Men's Shield Parka - Burke Mountain Academy

We've purchased several SYNC products for our boys, but this is my first. I am thoroughly impressed with the Shield Parka after a month+ of heavy use! In particular, I appreciate the high collar w/magnetic latch, sleeve length, cuff geometry and ski pass pocket on left sleeve (I understand the last two were enhancements to the previous "Shelter Parka"). I'd also modify a few things to make this jacket ever sweeter! These include: (1) use a heavier-denier nylon fabric on the outer shell (CORDURA even) and inner lining, both could be beefed-up a little bit even at the expense of weight and packability (2) go with a contrasting grey/silver color for the inner lining material (3) make the SYNC logo on the left shoulder white like in years past and consider embroidering it and (4) use a thicker hook and latch product on the cuffs. I was psyched to see the folks at SYNC ditched the teal trim at the breast pocket zipper/misc. stitching in favor of navy blue/black and went with a more symmetrical quilting pattern as compared to the website image (photo might be a relic of the Shelter model). All-in, I'd recommend this product to ANYONE and have received several compliments on the mountain. Also, the customer service team was awesome to work with when the Shield Parka was not yet up on the Holderness team store when I was bout to order.

Not sure what Sync is thinking using cheap plastic zippers on this product. Pocket zippers break within a couple weeks training gates then inevitably the main zipper breaks and product is useless. This is my son’s third jacket club jacket from Sync happened to every one of them. Plastic zippers break training every time.
